Steven Soderbergh’s male stripper movie Magic Mike has been making headlines for the last week or so thanks to its male cast– just this morning we were telling you that True Blood’s Joe Manganiello was joining the cast that already includes Alex Pettyfer, Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey and Matt Bomer. But even though the movie is indeed mostly about the men who bare it all, there’s room for the more traditional female strippers too–and don’t worry, they’ll be played by actresses who will fit the roles just fine.

Coming Soon has learned that Jessica Biel is taking a role as a stripper who is dating Tatum’s character, the titular Magic Mike who is showing newbie The Kid (Pettyfer) through the world of male exotic dancers. And E! Online has it that Riley Keough, the actress who also happens to be Elvis’s granddaughter, will be playing the stripper who becomes The Kid’s girlfriend. At one point Soderbergh was considering casting Lindsay Lohan in the part, but according to a source, “he didn’t want to deal with all that.” “All that” presumably meaning Lohan’s many, many tabloid-ready troubles, plus the fact that the movie would immediately become “Lindsay Lohan’s stripper movie”– a title that didn’t work out so well for I Know Who Killed Me, after all.

Shooting on Magic Mike begins this fall in Tampa, Florida, where there will presumably be a run on sales of thong underwear and body glitter. I said it about Joe Manganiello and I’ll say it again: this movie, weird as it is, is right at the top of my most anticipated list for 2012.

The thriller is about a young doctor (Bloom) who “falls for his beautiful 18 year old patient (Keough) and devises a plan to leave her in his care. They form a close bond, but events spiral out of control. Backed into a corner, the Good Doctor has no choice but to cover his tracks by any means necessary.”

The Good Doctor also stars Taraji P. Henson and Michael Pena.

Riley Keough attends the Mick Rock Exhibit for the famed photographer on Thursday (December 16) at Confederacy in Los Angeles.

The 21-year-old actress was given the hosting duties alongside contemporary artist Shepard Fairey. At the event, Riley rubbed shoulders with rocker Tommy Lee.

Riley is currently one of the frontrunners to land the lead role of Snow White in the feature film Snow White and the Huntsman!

The 21-year-old actress and model is one of four actresses the studio is considering for the role of Snow White, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Rounding out the shortlist (clockwise): The Tempest’s Felicity Jones, Swedish actress Alicia Vikander, and Australian actress Bella Heathcote.

Sources add that tests will determine if Universal may want to reach out to a bigger name.

Riley has sexy short hair for her role as Jack in the upcoming werewolf flick Jack & Diane, which she shot in NYC back in June/July. She plays a teenage girl who falls in love with another girl named Diane (Juno Temple).

According to The Australian, key crew members on the action movie have been told not to return to the project until August or November next year as filming is now being targeted for a February 2012 start.

Fury Road, which will see Inception’s Tom Hardy step into Mel Gibson’s role as Max Rockatansky, has already experienced one production delay.

In July, shooting was pushed back when unseasonal rain made Australia’s Broken Hill region too fertile to use for the desert landscape backdrops.

Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult and Riley Keough are expected to join Hardy in the cast for Mad Max: Fury Road.
